Short & Paulk Supply of Tifton announced the spinoff of its truss manufacturing operation as a separate business division catering exclusively to the wholesale trade.

The new division will be known as Georgia Structural Components (GSC).

According to S&P CEO Jay Short, "The wholesale-only orientation of our new GSC Division provides an opportunity for substantial development as we continue to expand this distribution channel.

NEW YORK (AP) - Wal-Mart announced a new strategy that it hopes will pull in procrastinators early by giving them a big incentive: a guarantee that they'll get the lowest price no matter when they buy during the holiday season.

The discounter said Monday it will match prices on many of its products. Shoppers who buy something at a Walmart store between Nov. 1 and Dec. 25, but then find the identical product elsewhere for less, can get a gift card in the amount of the difference.

The semi-annual Belk Charity Sale will be Saturday, November 5 from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.

The four-hour shopping sale directly benefits non-profit charities and schools, allowing them to keep 100% of each $5 ticket sold, while providing shoppers an opportunity to save 20 to 70 percent off purchases that day on seldom discounted merchandise.

“Each Belk Charity Sale offers us the opportunity to reach thousands of nonprofits across our footprint and to help them raise much needed funds,” said aid Jessica Graham, vice president, communications and community relations at Belk.
