Fall concert at ABAC | News
TIFTON, GA – Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will have their fall concert Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m. at the Howard Auditorium.
Eighty-five voices throughout the Southeastern the United States will make up the concert choir.
The concert will open with “The Star Spangled Banner”, that was arranged by John Stafford Smith, then the choir will perform “Great Day” featuring soloists Briahana Rogers from Tifton, and Joseph Bishop from Fitzgerald.

Eighty-five voices from throughout the southeastern United States will join together on Nov. 1 for the annual fall concert by the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Concert Choir.
Under the direction of Dr. Susan Roe, Director of Music, the choir will perform a variety of songs at 7 p.m. in Howard Auditorium on the campus of ABAC. This concert is open to the public at no charge.
After opening with “The Star Spangled Banner”, arranged by John Stafford Smith, the choir will perform the traditional spiritual “Great Day”, arranged by Ron Kauffmann and featuring soloists Briahana Rogers, a vocal music major from Tifton, and Joseph Bishop, a vocal major from Fitzgerald.
The choir will be accompanied on this piece by Dr. Douglas Jurs, Assistant Professor of Theory and Piano for the ABAC music program, and accompanist of all ABAC choral groups.
“My True Love Hath My Heart” by John Rutter, will be sung a cappella by the sopranos and altos of the concert choir. The tenors and basses of the concert choir will present Sir Robert Burns beautiful ballad, “A Red, Red Rose”, set to music by composer James Mulholland.
The ABAC Chamber Singers, one of the music program’s auditioned choral ensembles, will perform Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium” a cappella, followed by Alisa Bair’s “Angel Breathing Out”.
Two spirituals will conclude the evening’s performance. Brian Holland, a vocal music major from Fitzgerald, will perform “Didn’t It Rain”, arranged by Rollo Dilworth, and Katelyn Payne, a vocal music major from Moultrie, will sing “Ride On King Jesus” by Moses Hogan.
